Jared M. Ordway, Ph.D.

Dr. Ordway is a Senior Scientist in Orion’s Biomarker Discovery Group. He has participated in the development and validation of Orion's DNA methylation profiling technology, trademarked as MethylScope. As Group Leader of Orion’s breast cancer program, he has applied this technology to the successful discovery of powerful biomarkers for breast cancer. Dr. Ordway received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham where his work was focused on the development and characterization of gene-targeted mouse models of neurodegenerative diseases caused by CAG repeat expansion mutations, including Huntington’s Disease, Kennedy’s Disease, and the spinocerebellar ataxias. Dr. Ordway completed his Postdoctoral Fellowship in the laboratory of Dr. Tom Curran at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. His research at St. Jude involved studying the role of DNA methylation in the mechanisms of oncogenic transformation and brain tumorigenesis.
